Weird but 8 interesting facts about motorcycles that you don’t know.

Outside of the daily ride of a motorcycle, there are many fun and interesting things about motorcycles that we usually don’t know about. I’m going to tell you something you haven’t heard before.

1. Wooden motorcycle

When hearing for the first time, it is a little surprising that can be a motorcycle made of wood. On 10 November 1885, Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach built the motorcycle for the first time in history. The name of the motorcycle was Daimler Reitwagen. The motorcycle was driven by Gottlieb Daimler’s 17-year-old son about 5-12 kilometers. The motorcycle was able to run at 11 kilometers per hour.

2. World’s smallest motorcycle

A resident of Sweden, Tom Wiberg made the world’s smallest motorcycle Small Toe in early 2003. It is (2.55) inches or 65mm tall, its top speed was 2 kilometers per hour and it ran for 10 meters with a 0.3 horsepower engine. The weird thing is it is a geared engine and has no brakes.

Resident of Italy Fabio Reggiani made the world’s tallest motorcycle Mad Dad and it took 6 months to build. From the ground to the top of the handlebars the motorcycle is 5.10 m (16 ft 8.78 in) tallest and 10.03 m long. Which is slightly smaller than the Statue of Liberty’s face. Fabio’s motorcycle set the Guinness world record in 2012. Fabio rode the motorcycle over 100 metres. I called it a giraffe motorcycle because when you first see the motorcycle it will remind you of the giraffe.

5. Tomato can be used in motorcycles

As strange as it may sound, It is known from many sources that the first Harley Davidson motorcycle carburetor was made from a tomato can. I have researched my website and read two books based on Harley Davidson motorcycle one is Everything You Need to Know: Harley-Davidson Motorcycle by Bill Stermer and another one was written by Herbert Wanger At the Creation: Myth, Reality, and the Origin of the Harley-Davidson Motorcycle, 1901-1909. But the story about the can is still doubtful. This story seems more myth than fact.

6. A toilet bike

A Japanese toilet manufacturer company TOTO made a motorcycle called Toilet Bike Neo. It was a poop-powered motorcycle. Let me explain this, when you poop, the biogas produced from your poop is used as power to run the motorcycle. The motorcycle was mainly made to represent TOTO’s environmental work.

7. Motorcycle theft

A Harley-Davidson motorcycle was buried by a person in North Carolina on his property. The owner of the property very cleverly claimed in 2006 that his motorcycle was stolen. He did this preliminary because he could not repay the loan taken for his motorcycle. Later his debt was paid off and he received money as compensation. The motorcycle was rescued by a new property owner in 2012.
