How can I increase my motorcycle mileage?

If you want more mileage from your motorcycle and save money, try these 13 following tips:

1. Service your motorcycle on time

Follow your user manual and maintain the servicing schedule on time. Tune your motorcycle every month and Service on time for optimum efficiency. On-time service prevents engine damage and excessive fuel consumption. Also don’t forget to change engine oil when it requires to be changed.

2. Stop sudden acceleration

If sudden or fast acceleration generates more energy and burns more fuel. Avoid rough acceleration and overspeeding. When your bike is on standby or on the road, don’t accelerate more than needed. Try to steady your motorcycle throttle.

3. Avoid pressing the clutch unnecessarily

If you notice carefully it can be seen many people ride their bikes with pressing half clutch, never do this. Less use of the clutch will increase your mileage and the clutch plate will not wear out soon.

4. Stop sudden or unusual braking

Except for emergency braking, avoid sudden and unusual braking, and press your motorcycle brake slowly. Try to press the brake gradually from a safe distance. If you are not in a hurry then first stop warping the throttle, slow down your bike then press the brake gradually. It will save you fuel but be more time-consuming.

5. Drive at a specific speed

Maintaining a specific speed will help you to save fuel. Keep your motorcycle at medium speed which indicates between 45-55 kilometres per hour so that you can get the maximum speed. For Commuter motorcycles 60-70 kilometres per hour. If you are running your motorcycle over 60 kilometers per hour, run your engine on top gear.

6. Gear shifting

Gear shifting plays a huge role in saving motorcycle fuel. Shifting gear too soon or too late will drain your fuel Shift gear at the right RPM between 1500- 2000. Run your bike in the right gear as needed. Running your engine in 1 or 2 gears for a long time will give you less mileage on the other hand maximum gear and high speed also drain your fuel soon. It is necessary to adjust the gear as the speed increases and your gearbox will last longer.

7. Check the tire pressure

Maintain the right tire pressure for good mileage. Flat tires feel heavy and put more pressure on the engine. Your engine needs to generate more energy to run your motorcycle and that will burn more fuel, resulting in less mileage.

8. Clean or replace Air filter

Clean or replace the air filter on time so that the engine can breathe fresh air without any barrier. Polluted air, dust, and unwanted stuff that exist in the air can enter the engine and reduce its general working ability or damage the engine particles. It turns out with less mileage.

9. Do not park your motorcycle where sunlight hits directly

If the bike is parked under the sun for a long time, the temperature of the bike tank increases. Octane and petrol are flammable so leaving your motorcycle under the sun for a long time turns your fuel into vapour. When you park your motorcycle constantly in the sun Unsaintly of your Motorcycle fuel runs out and the mileage will decrease.

10. Avoid Overload

Try to avoid putting extra weight on your motorcycle. An overloaded bike requires more energy to run and for producing extra energy your engine burns more fuel that drops the normal mileage target.

11. Put the engine off when you are in traffic

Always put your engine off when you are in traffic for more than 20-25 seconds. Try to use a shortcut and free road instead of Busy, Broken, or uneven roads. It saves fuel and gives more mileage.

12. The chain

For a better mileage count in your Drive chain. Always Keep it in the right tension and lubricated. Rusty, over-tight, and over-loose chain bike tires don’t get sufficient energy for that reason you will get good mileage.

13. Use good-quality oil

Good quality fuel matters a lot for a motorcycle engine’s health and mileage.  Always try to fill your fuel tank from a reputed fuel pump so that you can make sure that your engine swallows a good quality drink and that will take care of good mileage.
