Motorcycles are the first choice for many people as they are compact and relatively less expensive. People in congested cities put motorcycles at the top of the list of their preferences. In high-traffic areas or through any narrow road you can navigate with a motorcycle easily and reach your destination easily. To take freedom we made mistakes unknowingly that lead us to penalties. Let’s find out how we can avoid these penalties.
1. Make sure about the legality and roadworthiness of your motorcycle
Before hitting on the road make sure your motorcycle meets the local laws. Make sure you have valid papers like insurance, registration, and driving license for your motorcycle. Apart from these check well that your motorcycle’s lights are functioning properly. Another most important thing is if you modify the motorcycle, modify it in such a way that it does not violate the road laws. These are the primary steps to follow to avoid penalties.
2. Stay within speed limits
The most common reason for motorcycle riders to get a ticket is overspeeding. When you cross the speed limit you will get a ticket and your driving license will also be suspended for a certain period. This means you can no longer drive a motorcycle during that time and if you cause an accident your license can be revoked for life time. Run your motorcycle at a moderate speed and avoid speeding.
3. Do not drunken drive
Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is strictly prohibited in every country. Drunken driving puts not only the rider’s own life at risk but also the lives of others on the road. Driving a motorcycle in an intoxicated situation or causing an accident can result in your driving license being permanently revoked, along with imprisonment and fines. Almost everyone seems able to ride after being intoxicated. Even if you feel like the same avoid self-riding and find an alternative to reach your destination.
4. Wear safety gears
Safety gear is always necessary to ensure maximum safety whether you are off-roading or riding on the highway. Wear at least minimal safety gear especially when you are on the highway. In many cities wearing appropriate gear is mandatory, especially a helmet. In almost every country if you are not wearing a helmet you will have to pay hefty fines and face legal trouble. Be aware of your local road and traffic laws. I highly recommend you wear gloves and boots along with a helmet for better protection.
5. Avoid reckless Riding
If you don’t want to endanger others and your own life and don’t want any penalties or criminal charges on you then avoid reckless riding. Stunts on the road like wheelies or stoppies, lane Splitting, switching between other vehicles with improper signals, and overtaking other vehicles with close calls are considered reckless behavior. Avoiding doing this kind of stuff will protect you from getting penalties as well as protect you and others from unwanted accidents.
6. Follow traffic rules
Before hitting the motorcycle on the highway every rider should know local traffic laws or have basic knowledge about traffic signals and signs. I have seen many riders navigate through other stopped vehicles during the traffic signal. Some riders don’t even care about the stop sign and run through the red lights. Not following the traffic rules and signs is the main reason for leads to accidents and penalties. Follow the traffic rules properly to avoid penalties.
While riding your motorcycle Always prioritize safety first. Know and obey your local laws properly. By following the above-mentioned tips you can easily avoid penalties and also can ensure a safe journey.
