Motorcycles are really fun to drive at the same time it is very dangerous too. You can say motorcycles are the first love of the young generation. The majority of the number from young to old love to ride motorcycles. Many people ride motorcycles but not everyone can be good drivers. I’m here to guide you with my personal and research experience to be a better motorcycle rider.
1. Select the right motorcycle
Most of the new bikers made a mistake here in selecting a Heavy and higher cc motorcycle at the beginning stage. Go for a lightweight and lower cc motorcycle that you can easily control. Once you understand the fundamentals of riding a motorcycle and learn better control of a motorcycle then you can go for a higher cc motorcycle. If at the very beginning, you take a higher cc motorcycle and you do not have any real-world experience it will not be the ideal selection and very dangerous. You will not control yourself for speeding or not even control your motorcycle as a result of which a major accident will occur. Recommendation: If it is your first motorcycle and you don’t know how to drive, invest your money in a good condition lower cc second-hand motorcycle. Learn driving then switch otherwise it goes without saying that by your wrong decision, you put your life and your new motorcycle at risk. Another thing you can do is take motorcycle driving training and then go for your desired motorcycle.
2. Practice
The more you will practice the more you learn to take control of your motorcycle. Choose a road with less traffic and practice riding the motorcycle in an open field. I suggest not to get on the highway without learning to ride a motorcycle properly. Take proper control of your motorcycle and hit the highway after knowing the traffic and highway rules. That reduces the chances of accidents to a great extent.
3. Speeding
Do not try to speed after having a new motorcycle. Maintain a medium speed between 25-35 kilometers per hour during the learning period. For speeding up the motorcycle, leave the clutch slowly and pull the throttle with the same energy. Do not leave the clutch suddenly and pulling throttle roughly increases the chance of an accident.
4. Braking and turning
During the learning period to ride a motorcycle takes a long time to learn braking and turning. I can remember. Almost every motorcycle rider at the time of their learning period is afraid to turn as a result of which hands start shaking and the throttle of the motorcycle increases a lot. Also can not brake properly or suddenly presses the brake hard. As a beginner, practice to leave the throttle, and don’t forget to hold the clutch while braking and turning. Otherwise, a major accident may occur. Avoid sudden braking without any emergency. Maintain a certain distance while braking or turning and gently press the brakes. Practice honking before reaching a turn or at the time of overtaking a person or vehicle and use indicator lights to visible your direction to other drivers on the road.
5. License and insurance
Every motorcycle owner must have a license to avoid legal hassles and insurance for compensation in case of an accident. Before buying a motorcycle make sure that you have a driving licence. Otherwise, you can not drive your motorcycle on the highway.
6. Be aware of the weather conditions
Riding in bad weather is a very bad idea. However, every beginner motorcycle rider needs to practice in adverse weather so that when the situation comes you can perform well without committing an accident. It is not a good idea to drive a motorcycle in deep fog, snow, heavy rain, storms, and freezing temperatures if it is not necessary. Always be aware of weather conditions before going outside.
